Our wooden Dhronis are made from high quality medicinal woods such as country Venga (Pterocarpus- Marsupium/ Kerala Venga/ Asana), Arya Vep (Azadirecta India / Kerala Neem/ Arya Vep), Anjali (Artocarpus Hirsutius) etc.

Since these are hardwoods and have high moisture content, there is a tendency for crack development when exposed to dry/ cold weather, due to shrinkage to minimise this weakness, we have developed the first and only seasoning system for Dhroni using high velocity steam in kiln seasoning plant. 17 days and oil seasoning (by immension in herbal oils) for 5 days. These two seasoning processes improve the life of Dhroni and it's strength.

1. Wooden Dhroni - Export Quality –Type 2
This is made of Kiln seasoned, and Oil Seasoned –medicinal wood like Country Venga Wood (Kerala Venga /Asana/Pterocarpus Marsupium), Arya Vep (Kerala Neem), Anjali etc. This Dhroni is exquisitely hand crafted with shaped handles and hand carved designs. The country Venga Wood is one of the best medicinal wood among those recommended for making Dhroni, by the text ‘Dhara Kalpam’

Single piece Dhronis are made from Trees of about 100 years age and Single-jointed Dhronis are made from trees of above 50 years age. These Dhronis can be nicely finished by hand polishing without using chemical materials. Certification for the authenticity of the wood can be provided from the Kerala Forest Research Institute.
Single joint Dhronis come with an innovative Re-tightable joint that ensures life-long leak- tigh performance, unlike the usual carpentry joints that leak after a short while.
2. Wooden Dhroni - short Bowl-on stand
This design allows easier access to the head, more body space and low maintenance compared to the regular bowl type. This is due to the absence of a separate bowl at the head end and long drain channel at the leg end. Further, this is less heavy since it can be made in 3” thickness, little less than the other model. Due its special design, easy handling is possible. This is more economical too, than the regular ( Full Bowl ) Dhroni.

The Wooden Stand is of plain design with shaped legs andmade in medicinal woods like Venga, Arya Vep (Kerala Neem) or general hardwoods.
Dhroni and Stand are sold separately.
These Dhronis are very economical compared to the single piece types.
